'Witchcraft - Its Power in the World Today' was originally published in 1940. The author William Seabrook was an acknowledged authority on witchcraft and was an intimate of such figures as Upton Sinclair (Author of 'Mental Radio'), G I Gurdjieff (Author of 'Meetings With Remarkable Men', 'Beelzebub's Tales to his Grandson', etc), and Aleister Crowley. The book includes a large section on the use of sympathetic magic; in particular, the use of dolls. While the account begins in a relatively conventional manner (for the time), it becomes more interesting as you read on. All in all a very insightful account of the practice of witchcraft, spiritualism, vampirism, the werewolf, and similar phenomena, as they existed in the early part of the Twentieth Century.
